Next to me cribs have become so popular over the last couple of years as they allow for safe co-sleeping. The best thing about the cribs is that they can be easily adjusted to fit the height of your bed, allowing for easy access to your baby when needed. The cribs are known by many names and some of these include, bedside cribs, co-sleeping cots or side-sleeping cribs. Within this article, I use these terms (as described by the manufacturer).
If you require a quick answer, the best next to me crib is the Mamas & Papas Lua which can be used from birth to 6 months or when your child is showing signs of sitting up.
However, if you are looking for a more affordable alternative, the Babylo Snuggle Cuddle Co-Sleeper is the best option that allows for easy access, a rocking motion and a tilting action if your baby suffers from reflux.
To rate the next to me cribs within this article, we based our recommendations on testing, our experience with multiple cribs that have easy access, the latest research and several factors. Some of the factors that we considered included the age range, rocking motion, quality of the construction, additional features, warranty and value for money.

The Best Next To Me Cribs
1. Best Overall: Mamas & Papas Lua Bedside Crib
By far the most popular bedside crib on the market is the Mamas & Papas Lua. Their innovative crib makes sleeping much easier and safer knowing your baby is close to you. This is because their mesh fabric allows you to constantly watch your baby through the night when you need it.
An important feature that I love about this product (having a toddler) is that I can easily remove the bassinet from the stand and move it around the house so my baby can still have their daytime naps in a safe place away from my toddler.
If you are looking for the best overall next to me crib then look no further than the Mamas & Papas Lua. Their design and intuitive features make this a great next to me crib and during our testing, we were not disappointed.
2. Best All Round: Tutti Bambini CoZee® Bedside Crib
Another popular bedside crib is the Tutti Bambini CoZee. Standout features of this crib are that it has an airflow mattress for comfort and ventilation panels which allow you to see your baby clearly through the night.
Additional features that this crib has are rocking bars which are great for when your baby wakes through the night and needs a bit of help to get back off to sleep, saving you from getting up and rocking your baby yourself.
In terms of adjustability, the crib can easily be adjusted to fit the height of your bed with its 6 height positions. This was a feature that I found particularly useful as my baby suffers from reflux and I was able to make him more comfortable by adjusting one side higher than the other to help relieve his symptoms.
To conclude, the Tutti Bambini bedside crib is a great option that comes with lots of features (similar to the Mamas & Papas Lua) but the bonus is the price is slightly lower. However, it is worth noting that during our testing, the quality of this bedside crib wasn’t as good as the Mamas & Papas Lua but this is reflected in the price.
3. Best Budget: Babylo Snuggle Cuddle Co Sleeper
If you are looking for an affordable option then look no further than the Babylo Snuggle Cuddle Co Sleeper. For the price, this crib comes packed with high-end features that will not disappoint. One feature that I love (as explained above) is the anti-reflux positioning and is a feature that I feel is very important when looking for a bedside crib.
Overall, this is a great affordable option that features high end details for half of the price! You will not be disappointed with this and for they money, you can’t go wrong.
4. Best Longevity: Chicco Next2Me Forever
This crib is slightly different to all the alternatives above as it is a bedside crib that is designed to last until your child is 4 years old! This makes it a great option if you are looking for a next to me crib to grow and last with your baby.
Although it is a lot bigger than the other cribs, it allows you to have those co-sleeping nights until your child is 4, allowing for peaceful and a comfortable night’s sleep. In terms of longevity, you can remove the feet and barriers so your toddler can easily get in and out of their bed should they want, promoting their autonomy. This is a great option as they can be more independent whilst you can keep an eye on them, ensuring they are safe at all times.
To conclude, the Chicco Next2Me Forever is perfect for those who want the option of safe co-sleeping with their child up until the age of 4. Although expensive, it’s a crib that grows with your child making it a worthwhile investment.
5. Best Tilted: Snuzpod 4 Bedside Crib
The Snuzpod 4 is another premium option that is jam-packed full of features which will not disappoint. Unlike the other Snuzpod models, the Snuzpod4 features the new comfort air system which makes the crib more breathable. This is thanks to the airflow vents, mesh liner and base ventilation which in turn allows your baby to regulate their temperature for a comfortable night’s sleep.
Another feature that I love as a mum with a newborn and a toddler is the easy-to-remove bassinet which is lightweight and great for keeping out of reach of my toddler!
During testing, I found that the tilt on this crib was particularly smooth along with the rocking motion. Tilting is so important for me as my little one has reflux so a tilt and ensuring my baby is comfortable is vital and this crib did not disappoint.
To conclude, the SnuzPod4 is a premium option that comes full of features that will aid your little one when it comes to sleep, allowing for a peaceful night for you and your baby.
6. Best Travel: Babylo Natura Folding Crib

How We Rated
Getting a good night’s sleep is so important when it comes to having children and the next to me cribs certainly help with this. The safe co-sleeping feature ensures that your baby knows you are close and helps reduce anxiety as a parent when it comes to sleeping with your baby.
There are so many designs and cribs on the market and over the last couple of months, I have tried and tested multiple to ensure that I had the best options for you. Although all the next to me cribs have their benefits and features that make them a worthwhile investment, it is down to personal preference when choosing one for you and your baby.
As you can see in the photos below, we have tested multiple options and used all their functions so I can give you my honest findings. As I have already mentioned, a feature that was important to me was rocking and reclining positions (due to my baby having reflux) and I wasn’t disappointed with my findings.
I personally liked the Mamas & Papas Lua as it was jam-packed with all the features I was looking for, not only that but it came in a beautiful colour that fitted with my room’s décor and didn’t look ‘out of place’. I also found that in comparison to the other cribs the bassinet was a good size for my son’s length (which is important as my son is rather long)
In the pictures below, you can see we have tested the Snuzpod4 and left it in a slight recline to show how it looks. I have also taken a close-up of the zip feature so you can see how easy it is to release the fold-down mesh panel to see your baby. This differs from the Mamas & Papas next to me crib that features a clasp (which can be more fiddly at night).
During our testing, we looked at the next to me build quality, rocking, tilting features, safety features, ease of putting it together as well as the different styles.
As well as our testing and experience using multiple next to me cribs, we also based our recommendations on the latest research and several factors. Some of the factors that we considered included the age range, adjustable incline positions, quality of the construction, usability, additional features and value for money.
To conclude, for safe co-sleeping options, the next to me cribs are a great choice. They provide safety and security for you and your baby allowing for peace of mind when it comes to sleeping. All of our recommendations above are suitable for all budgets and offer multiple styles to best suit you and your baby’s needs.
